Whenever people around the office hear even a whisper that a Fenty Beauty product is launching, there’s a sudden rush to check out exactly what the newest addition will be. This time the newest launch comes in the form of a lip stain. Another one? Yes – but this time, it’s better.
Now, this new range of lip stains cleverly named Poutsicle Hydrating Lip Stains, is all that plus with an ultra moisturising, mega juicy and glossy finish. It includes that same pop of colour that the iconic Fenty Stunna Lip Paints do, but this time in a range of four berry shades to choose from, and an oil-in-water formula that promises the same, almost industrial-glue-like long lasting effect as the Lip Stunnas.
Plus, they’re feather and bleed resistant, which means that this is one of those glossy lip tints that doesn’t transfer, doesn’t dry sticky and allows you to go without a lip liner. Like the good Navy members that we are, we’ve decided to put the new four Poutsicle Hydrating Lip Stains to the test and here our unbiased and most honest thoughts.
The Product:

As self appointed Chief Executive Officer of all the Fenty Beauty Stan accounts, I am going to try and be as unbiased as possible. When it comes to lip products, I much prefer lip balms and lip liners. I find pops of colour on the lips quite scary. However, when Rihanna tells you to give something a try, you really should.
I decided to go for the shade Berry Banger which was a deeper hue that I hoped would complement my dark complexion. The wand makes for easy application, the formula felt a little sipplery and watery at first, but surprisingly I only needed two coats for full coverage and when I tell you that pigment did not move. IT. DID. NOT. MOVE. 8 hours later it’s still going strong. Although I am not obsessed with the colour, that would be my only criticism. Throw me some brown, and nude shades and this is exactly what tint dreams are made of.

I've never met a Fenty product I didn't like, so I jumped at the chance to test-run the new Poutsicle Hydrating Lip Stain (even if the word 'poutsicle' does make me die a little bit inside). First thoughts: I LOVE THIS COLOUR. It's that bright, juicy tangerine orange that instantly brightens your eyes and makes your tan pop. The formula is, as it promises, super hydrating and doesn't settle into any cracks in my quite-dry lips; instead, it makes them look smooth and healthy.
The product is a little on the thin side which can make it difficult to achieve an even finish with the colour, but just a quick reapply does the trick, and the brush has a precise tip for achieving a sharp finish. But most impressively, this stuff does not budge. If you want a hydrating lip colour to last you all day and night, your search is over. You might want to dig out your industrial-strength makeup remover though.

This is such a versatile lip stain. It’s hydrating enough to give you some time to play and adjust the product during application and, if you’re not in the mood for a full whack solid lip colour, you can use less product on the doe foot to achieve more of an sheer tint.
A top pick for achieving the wet look and it honestly leaves such a nice sheen. My one bug bear would probably be that it creates such a quick stain so you have to be careful not to apply outside the lines.

I usually play it pretty safe when it comes to my lip colour. Think: balms, nudes and a peachy pink if I'm feeling particularly adventurous. So, to venture into Zesty Bestie territory when testing Fenty's Poutsicle hydrating lip stain was quite the wild choice for me. While it's not a choice I might make again in a hurry, I was impressed with the colour-pay off.
Stain my lips it did, so if you're after something hard-wearing, you're onto a winner. The formula was lightweight and comfortable to wear, too. It made my lips look hydrated and juicy on first application, then left behind a soft tint that left my lips feeling conditioned once the shine had worn away.

I am a sucker for a lipgloss, but I very rarely reach for coloured glosses, usually opting for a clear/sheer gloss with a little sparkle. So I was dubious about the Fenty Poutsicle, as it's a little out of my comfort zone. I chose the shade Berry Banger which is a delicious dark plum colour, and as soon as I swiped it across my lips I was *into it*. The gloss was super high-shine and non-stick (immediate win for me). By the time the gloss had worn off after a few hours, it had left a really pretty stain on my lips, a paler berry "my-lips-but-better".
